AI Skills for Faculty

Faculty Tools Open Source · Cross-Tool
These are open-source AI skills I've built for common faculty tasks — reusable tools you invoke by name inside your AI assistant. Each skill is a text file with instructions that the AI follows. Built on the open Agent Skills standard, they work in compatible tools, including Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, and eligible ChatGPT workspaces. Access differs by product: Claude Code requires an eligible paid plan or API access; Gemini CLI offers free and paid access; and native ChatGPT Skills are limited to eligible Business, Enterprise, Healthcare, and Edu users, subject to workspace settings. A Plus or Pro subscription alone does not establish ChatGPT Skills eligibility. Check with Penn Law ITS before assuming Skills are enabled in Penn’s EDU workspace.
They are also worth reading even if you never install one. A skill file is just prose — the instructions I give the model, written out in plain English — so opening any of them on GitHub shows you exactly how these tools get steered, which is harder to learn from advice about prompting than from a working example of it.

Teaching & Assessment

Teaching skills live on the Pedagogy portal

The teaching and assessment skills are described there in the context of the course decisions they support. That portal is the canonical home for teaching guidance; this catalog covers faculty tools, access, and installation.
